What the winning nonprofit receives
At Modern Office Methods we believe technology and security are the backbone of community impact. One nonprofit will receive a complete office and network security transformation, delivered by MOM, OptimizedIT and Obviam.
Approximate retail value: $30,000
Please note: the winning organization agrees to a maintenance agreement for the ongoing services provided by Modern Office Methods and its affiliates. Full terms are in the official rules.
Up to $10,000 in office equipment
Modernized multifunction printers, copiers and scanners, professionally installed by Modern Office Methods.
$5,000 network vulnerability assessment
A full external network vulnerability assessment conducted by Obviam, with a written findings report.

A twelve-month subscription for up to ten users, provided by OptimizedIT, so your staff can spot threats before they land.

The winning organization is honored in a pregame check presentation on December 31 and hosted at the VIP Overlook Party.
Key dates and how nominations are judged
Every eligible nomination is read and scored by a panel of judges appointed by Modern Office Methods. We publish the criteria and their weights so you know exactly what a strong nomination looks like before you start writing.
- Impact on Mission Delivery — 30%. How directly the makeover would help your organization serve the community better.
- Demonstrated Need — 30%. The condition of your current equipment and network, and the budget limits that prevent you from upgrading on your own.
- Community Reach & Storytelling — 20%. How many people you serve each year, and a story worth telling.
- Alignment with Sponsor Values — 10%. Preference is given to organizations focused on education, safety, technology, youth or community development, and to those for whom secure technology is mission-critical.
- Sustainability of Impact — 10%. Evidence that the improvements will last, not just help once.

Judging and notification. Every eligible nomination is scored, finalists receive a short verification call, and the winner is notified by phone and email no later than December 11.

Award presentation. A pregame check presentation and the VIP Overlook Party at Paycor Stadium, Bengals vs. Ravens.
Be specific about who benefits
Name the programs the makeover would support and how many people they reach each year. Judges score specifics far higher than general statements of benefit.
Describe your current setup honestly
How old is the equipment? What breaks? What does your team work around? Where is your network exposed? Concrete detail is what separates a strong nomination from an average one.
Explain why security matters to you
Client records, donor data, information about minors — tell us what you are protecting and what would be at stake if it were exposed.
Show that the benefit will last
Describe how your team would use and maintain the new technology, and how it would keep paying off after year one.
Who can enter, and how
Who may nominate
Legal residents of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana or Pennsylvania who are 18 or older at the time of entry. Board members, staff, volunteers and community supporters are all welcome to nominate.
Employees, officers and directors of Modern Office Methods, OptimizedIT and Obviam — and their immediate family members — are not eligible.
Which organizations qualify
Nominees must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located within MOM's service region across Ohio, Northern Kentucky, Southeast Indiana and Western Pennsylvania.
What a nomination includes
The nonprofit's name, address and contact information, plus a written explanation of up to 500 words covering how the organization's mission serves the community, why it needs an office and network technology makeover, and how upgraded technology would improve its ability to deliver on that mission.
Limit one nomination per person. Multiple people may nominate the same organization.
The fine print
No purchase or payment necessary to enter or win. A purchase or payment does not increase your chances of winning. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Sponsored by Modern Office Methods, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio. Governed by the laws of the State of Ohio.
By accepting the award, the winner agrees to the use of its name, logo, photographs and story for promotional purposes, and to a maintenance agreement for the ongoing services provided by MOM and its affiliates.
